An exhibition of new work in glass by Jane Reeves.

From 11th until 22nd May 2013, The Picture House Galleries in Padstow will be unveiling a new collection of beautiful and unique paintings in fused glass by Jane Reeves, with a champagne reception and an opportunity to meet the artist - between 10.30am and 5pm - on Saturday 11 May.

"The seashore, the place where the waves fall and ebb away is mesmerising, it is never the same; it's endlessly changing. It's a constant source of interest and surprise."

What draws you to the sea? For so many of us it is what holidays are all about, whether its a day trip or a long awaited annual holiday... we keep getting drawn back. Our busy lives require moments of refreshment and peace. Going to the seaside seems to fulfill that need.

"The colours I see in a falling wave are the colours that describe freedom, freedom from the stuff of life that sometimes crowds in and saps energy. For a city dweller seeking that sense of freedom, they provide a momentary but lasting space to breathe deeply and be refreshed. Whether they are gentle harbour waves or huge crashing beach breakers, they represent the colour and sound of a 'free' sea."

Jane's latest collection, which follows an extremely successful (and completely sold out!) exhibition at The Picture House Galleries in 2012, reflects something of that passion for the sea and her love of its moods and colours. If you drop by, she hopes that you will catch a similar sense of the joy and freedom of the sea and that you will find yourself refreshed in the process!

The Picture House Galleries Padstow will be open between 10.30am-5pm from 1st April.
